Welcome to the NE RIEP "Legacy Site"

Between April 2008 and 31 March 2011, the North East Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (NE IEP) has worked with local authorities and Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs) in the North East with the aim of delivering outcomes which benefit communities, improve local services and generate efficiencies across the public sector.

The many projects put in place during this period have unquestionably delivered on this aim and have produced significant results for citizens and authorities. NE IEP projects will have delivered efficiencies of £48.5million by the end of 2011 with a total of up to £254million projected by 2013.

On this site you will find End of Programme and Project Reports, related documentation and other Key Products from all of the NE RIEP's activity between 2008 and 2011.

Some of the project work is continuing:

  • contact NEPO for up to date information about the Collaborative Procurement Programme and Construction Frameworks
  • contact NEREO for up to date information about the National Recruitment Portal project
  • contact NE ADASS for up to date information about continuing social care projects
  • contact Newcastle City Council for up to date information about the Route Optimisation Project
  • contact ANEC for any other RIEP legacy related enquiries

Further efficiency and collaborative working tools and information will be available on the 'Be Better' website currently being developed and hosted by Sunderland City Council. This will be a Regional Change, Improvement and Efficiency Website, to support and enhance the effectiveness of BPI/BPR methods and techniques within the North East Region.

The RIEP team would sincerely like to thank all who have participated in the Programme and contributed to the many successes we have achieved together.

Thank you.
