Community Engagement & Empowerment Programme Innovation Fund
The Programme Board agreed on 3rd April 2009 to establish an Innovation Fund. The key objective of the fund is to improve community empowerment and engagement by:
- Generating a positive impact on services and culture
- improving outcomes for communities, and
- embedding a genuine customer focus in service delivery that can be felt within organisations and by communities.
The Innovation Fund is structured around the core themes of the CEE Programme which are shown below and support the aspirations of Communities in Control, Real People Real Power, the Government's Empowerment White Paper:
- Improving empowerment and engagement and communicating more effectively with :
- Older People
- Young People
- Communities
- Engaging with hard to reach groups including the "silent majority"
- Furthering understanding between statutory and voluntary & community sectors
- Supporting community safety and the integration of neighbourhood policing into neighbourhood management
The 2010 Innovation Fund has funding of £200,000 available for the financial year April 2010 to March 2011.
Ideally, a geographically balanced spread of projects across the region, in both rural and urban settings will be sought.
