Employees represent our greatest costs and greatest asset. Outstanding leadership and partnership working will be critical to our success in the years to come. We've invested in personal and organisational learning and development for both members and officers. Our projects help to identify and develop key enabling behaviours, skills and cultures.

Inspiring Partnerships

The NEIEP aspires to establish the North East as the leading region for partnership working. In order to bring this ambition about, self-assessment tools have been developed encouraging authorities to focus on their partnership behaviours. This project will also provide tailored support packages and encourage those working in partnerships to take advantage of the learning and development opportunities available. A partnerships champion network has also been devised, involving 50 people from different sectors recognised for their exceptional skills and behaviours in partnership working.

Stimulating the ambition of the region to excel in this area can increase the capacity for partnerships to excel at every level. This in turn encourages knowledge sharing to achieve shared regional aims and increases the capacity for partnerships to innovate and deliver substantial improvements and efficiencies.
