Partnerships Projects

Below is a summary of the Partnerships Programme projects. Documentation relating to the programme can be found on the Key Products page.

Engaging and Empowering North East Partnership Champions (£140,000 later merged with PA132)
Bringing together a cohort of partnership experts and enthusiasts to champion the region's shared ambition to be the best UK region for partnership working and provide high profile public support for principles of effective partnership.

Understanding and Delivering High Performing Local Area Agreements (£180,000 later renamed Understanding and delivering high performance LAAs and reduced to £88,147)
Supporting LAA leads and partners to deliver LAA targets by identifying and sharing effective interventions; preparing for and learning from CAA; enabling collaboration and challenge to raise performance and encourage innovation.

Inspiring and Supporting Partnerships to Deliver (£270,000, later merged with PA 128, renamed Inspiring Partnerships and reduced to £220,468)
Providing a range of activity to inspire and boost the capacity of individual partnerships, and share good practice between partnerships including; Supporting LSP managers and members; promoting effective partnership behaviours and cultures; using peer and self assessments to create development plans; deploying Local Improvement Advisers to meet individual and collective need; providing tailored packages of support.

Delivering our MAAs (£300,000)
Capacity building support to Tees Valley and Tyne and Wear Multi Area Agreement partners to ensure their MAAs are delivered and objectives and performance targets achieved. Funding transferred direct to Tees Valley Unlimited and Tyne and Wear City Region.

Delivering and supporting Community Safety Outcomes (£100,000 later reduced to £76,875)
Joint project with Home Office and Ministry of Justice (led by Government Office North East) to embed the use of the performance assessment tool for CDRPS known as Hallmarks of Effective Practice in order to deliver improved community safety outcomes. Additional focus on improvement of support for tackling alcohol misuse and related crime and disorder.

Making the most of Local Improvement Advisors
To secure maximum value to the region from the national pool of Local Improvement Advisers (formerly Neighbourhood Renewal Advisers) with a budget of £3.5m+.

Taking Forward Total Place (£60,000, including an additional £6,000 transferred from PA132)
To work with the Institute for Local Governance to research and distil key lessons from the Total Place national pilots (started in late 2009). To provide a series of workshops and some research output to inform and assist leaders of North East public services as they address new challenges in public service delivery following in the budget and Comprehensive Spending Review of 2010.
